What to wear for work? Well, WORKWEAR of course!
Posted by: curt in Articles, General, tags: workwareAlthough dressing for manual work may seem like an obvious and simple enough exercise, however (and at the risk of sounding like a nagging parent), you would be surprised at just how many people do not take additional care when choosing outdoor work clothing.
As the summer nights begin to draw in, the days of ample daylight are numbered. When working outside, choosing work clothes which are not just comfortable, but safe too, should be an important concern.
Hi Vis wear is a simple way to make you safer when working, especially outside, and particularly during the approaching time of year. Just about every form of clothing is now available in Hi Vis and wearing high vis gear is a great way of staying in eyesight and safe.
The impending lack of sun also means temperatures will also begin to plummet. Thermals are a good addition to any workwear wardrobe. Thick, durable sweaters and jumpers will keep you warm and productivity levels at a premium.
For the rainier days, a waterproof jacket is also beneficial for a range of reasons, including keeping a degree of comfort whilst you work. Waterproof jackets have a laminate construction which consists of an outer covering bonded to a waterproof defence.
Gloves are also important when working outside in the cold or when handling rough of sharp objects. A popular type is the fingerless glove, which provides warmth without compromising any movement or grip. Whilst gloves keep your hands warm and safe, what about your head?
The trusty hard hat (available in high vis, don’t you know!) is an important piece of safety attire which is legally required on construction sites across the country. A protector against the hazard of falling materials will soften any impact to head, and similarly steel toe shoes will protect your feet from being crushed. Steel toe boots are also hard wearing and will help ensure the longevity of the boots.
By considering and applying the aforementioned advice, you can look forward to a safe, warm and productive time when working outside.
